Liverpool's Star Issues Statement to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the fallout from his public comments.
What Happened
He was omitted from a key Champions League match subsequent to voicing frustrations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I'm sorry.’”
The manager has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the player.

Jones insisted that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.
Jones also suggested that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “It's clear there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
Their results have remained strong in the games following the initial controversy. The player is convinced the outburst were not designed to destabilise the squad.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, getting results and on a positive run.”
