Esteemed Star Pat Finn, Known For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.

American actor Pat Finn, who featured in iconic programs such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles on Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per news outlets.

"Pat saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a statement.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive Career on Screen

His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.

He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He starred as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous popular shows, including:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series over nearly a decade.

His film credits are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.

He was part of a six-member improv team named "Beer Shark Mice".

"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, fellow actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he shared online.

The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
