Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

David Walliams

Acclaimed young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the publisher stated: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions involving young women.

The firm has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works combined, encompassing a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
